Equipment Transportation All freight charges for the above equipment will be charged $1.5 a mile plus current fuel surcharge rate. In figuring freight costs, factor in loaded drive time to job site and unloaded drive time back. Any delays at delivery site to get unloaded or to position the unit will be billed to the customer at $99.00 per hour. Of course customer can forgo all transportation charges and self transport the unit. To ensure safety for those who wish to self transport we have made our trailer hook up and wiring accessible at this link, TRAILER HOOK UP SPECIFICATIONS.
Labor If requested, our rate will be $75.00 per hour per standard workday, based on normal 7:00 am. - 3:30pm. Please inquire about labor costs for times other than listed above.
Environmental Fees A 2% charge of the rental cost of our generators will be added to your final invoice. This fee is to cover the disposal of used motor oil, antifreeze, refrigerants, and refrigerant oil. The environmental fee will not exceed $75.00. All accessory items are excluded from this charge.
Equipment Preventative Maintenance Our diesel powered equipment requires service periodically. If you operate our equipment past its service interval, You, the Customer will be responsible for performing this service. Service intervals occur every 250 hours. Our service department can perform these services for an additional charge. For each occurrence where you pass the service interval without providing this service, Customer will be billed and agrees to pay $500 for each missed occurrence. Customer will also be billed and agrees to pay for any long term damage this failure of preventative maintenance creates.
Customer's Responsibilities You the customer will be responsible for obtaining any relevant operating permits, the payment of all local and state taxes and specialized or additional union labor. You will also have to contact your insurance company and have them list Rod’s Service as an additional insured under your current policy and then fax an Accord Certificate of Liability Insurance to us Listing us as an additional insured for the Leased equipment with coverage being at least $75,000.00 or greater for leased borrowed or rented equipment.
Rental Policies/ Additional Costs The stud welder is charged on a daily basis. You will be charged if you use the machine or not, also note that the charge amount is based on 8 hour increments, and any time over 8 hours will cause an additional days billing. At our discretion we may work with you if you have one non usage day between two usage days but this must be talked about prior to the rental and if not you will be charged for all days you had unit.
Unit will be sent out full of fuel. During check-in unit will be filled w/ fuel and customer will be billed for the fuel to fill unit at our prevailing rate. Per specs unit at full load uses 9.4 Gallons per hour.
For good customer relations and to make sure problems are kept to a minimum at no charge to you a technician will make the delivery and will set up the unit correctly and will work w/ your men until the unit is set and shooting correctly. If you send our technician away without letting him set up the unit and actually shoot studs and then you have problems, we will not give procedure over the phone. You will be charged for an immediate service call and a technician will be dispatched to your job.
For normal operation of shooting studs the loop dimension of the stud welder must be 325 foot or less. Loop dimension is figured by adding the shortest ground to work and adding the length of the cable going to the gun work point. If greater than 325 foot distance customer must agree to pay for all setup time which is normally free. Charge will be based on our hourly service call rate of $75.00 per hour and no guarantees will be made as to the success of the welds. If your loop dimension is greater than 325 foot it is imperative that you bring this information to our attention before we get to the job site to discuss possible solutions to the problem depending on how far unit will have to be set away from ground point. To figure loop dimension figure where our trailer will be able to be placed on your job site closest to a ground connection point and measure that footage, then from that point measure the distance to the furthest point where you would have to shoot a stud. Add those two figures together for loop dimension. Remember unit can be jockeyed around job site so sometimes repositioning the unit on another corner or side of the building can overcome a loop dimension problem.
Any damages to equipment due to negligence or misuse shall be paid by the customer and will be determined by us. Any cable damage will be repaired or replaced at our discretion by us at customers cost.
Figuring Rental Costs for Bidding Purposes and Purchase Orders Take the days needed to shoot the studs and multiply by daily rate (shown above), figure in at least one chuck and grip (shown above) add these two figures together. Now figure mileage to your job from our address (click on this link to use yahoo maps) Insert 1413 Pennsylvania Ave. St. Louis MO, 63133 as the first address and your job address as the 2nd address. Get the mileage now double as we are calculating a round trip. Now multiply by our mileage rate shown above. Now multiply by current fuel surcharge rate (click this link to see current fuel surcharge rate use column LTL) . If we are leaving unit** (more than a couple hour rental) you will double again and this will include both delivery and pickup. Last but not least figure in fuel costs used in the machine. Take estimated hours and multiply by 9.4 (9.4 represents fuel used per hour at full load per spec sheet (generally you will not use this much fuel because you will not be running the unit at full load but for bidding purposes this will give you a safe number you probably will not exceed)) this will give you your gallons used now multiply by price per gallon of diesel fuel.
** If customer estimates the job may be accomplished in just a few hours, customer may opt to have our Technician wait for the unit, and avoid the pickup freight charge. In these circumstances customer will be charged our listed labor rate (above) for all wait time. Customer will not be charged for standard setup time (normally 1 hour from arrival time) which is included in the daily price. Please notify of this decision BEFORE unit is delivered so our man can be scheduled accordingly.
If you would like to order a unit and have it reserved for your date please call 314-721-6000, and have credit card information ready if you are not already set up as a charge customer. We will work with you on push backs due to weather that can be verified, (and some job delays at our discretion) but flat out cancellations made 7 days prior to delivery date will be refunded full amount less $275.00, Cancellations made within 7 days of the delivery date will be refunded full amount less $550.00. This will compensate us for rentals we may have lost for that time period because of your reservation.
So in a formula: (days x daily rate)= RENTAL RATE + RENTAL RATE X .02 environmental charge + consumables used + (mileage round trip x mileage rate x 1.fuel surcharge %) x2 if we are leaving unit and picking up on a different date + (estimated hours x 9.4 x current price of diesel per gallon) = total rental cost
